When you meet Hope For The Warriors Volunteer of the Month, Alex Adduci, you can feel his passion immediately for the outdoors, for people, and for purpose. Since first connecting with HOPE in 2020, Alex has become a dedicated supporter and friend to the warrior community, lending his time, energy, and even his boat to events that bring veterans and military families together in healing and connection.
Alex’s journey with Hope For The Warriors began with a simple invitation. “My personal involvement started in 2020 with an invitation from Bernie Ruf to attend the Annual Clay Shoot run by Stirling Collins,” Alex shared. “Listening to the guest speakers, feeling the ‘buzz’ of the event, witnessing the camaraderie and commitment to our warrior community from all involved… it all hit home for me.”
Having a close family member who recently retired from the Air Force after serving multiple deployments, Alex has seen firsthand the impact of service and sacrifice. That experience sparked his commitment to give back in a meaningful way.
“I knew from attending that first event that HOPE was an organization and family that I wanted to be a part of.”
Since then, Alex has become a familiar face at HOPE events from the annual Striped Bass Fishing Tournament and No Obstacles Race for the Warriors to the first-ever EEYC Tautog Tournament. Always the “where do you need me?” kind of volunteer, Alex jumps in wherever help is needed, whether that means bringing his boat, serving as a course marshal, or lending a hand behind the scenes. For him, these events perfectly blend his love for the outdoors with his dedication to supporting the military community. “Besides the love and respect that I hold for the hosts of the events that I have supported, I am an avid outdoorsman and said events align with my personal interests,” Alex said.
What makes it all worthwhile? The chance to give back in a hands-on way. “What is more fulfilling than being fortunate enough to share your passions with the individuals who were willing to sacrifice it all to protect our freedoms?” he said. “Without our warriors, the things we take for granted would not be possible.”
Of the many HOPE memories Alex holds close, one moment stands above the rest. During the second annual Striped Bass Fishing Tournament for HOPE, emotions ran high when a speech reminded him of his family’s own journey through years of separation and service.

“I had not seen my family member for almost eight years due to constant deployments,” he shared. “I became overwhelmed with emotion, and my son looked over at me, said, ‘I know, Dad,’ and wrapped his arms around me. The bond we shared that day is priceless and will never be forgotten.”
For Alex, volunteering with Hope For The Warriors has become more than an act of service; it’s a way of life.
“What started as attending a fundraising clay shoot has turned into a branded lifestyle for me,” he said. “Five years later, I’m now having conversations on event ideas that I could possibly host!”
Beyond giving back, Alex says the HOPE community has given something back to him as well.
“The people I’ve met, the experiences I’ve shared with my son, the impact I’ve seen, HOPE is silently providing more to me than can ever be expressed with words.”

As we celebrate Alex Adduci as Volunteer of the Month, we’re reminded that HOPE is built on the hearts of people like him. Those who give their time, their talents, and their compassion to create meaningful change.
“I am honored to be recognized as Volunteer of the Month,” Alex said. “Everyone associated with the HOPE community deserves their flowers.”
