Hope For The Warriors is thrilled to recognize Hannah Weeg as our Volunteer of the Month for November! Hannah, who serves as the liaison for Forward Air’s annual Drive for Hope Golf Tournament, has been a vital part of the success of this impactful event, which raises funds to empower veterans and their families.

Hannah began her journey with Hope For The Warriors shortly after joining the Internal Communications team at Forward Air. She quickly became instrumental in building the partnership between the nonprofit and the company’s charitable platform, Operation Forward Freedom. Her dedication to the Drive for Hope tournament has been unwavering, helping the event grow into a cornerstone of the partnership between the two organizations. “After three years of working with this incredible organization, it’s really special to be told that I am helping to further the profound impact Hope For The Warriors has on the veteran community,” says Hannah. “The HOPE team hosts dozens of events like this each year, and I’m truly honored that our event is making a difference.”

Hannah’s role in the Drive for Hope Golf Tournament involves coordinating every detail, from arranging contracts and hotel blocks to creating the event’s run-of-show and managing communications with sponsors and attendees. Each year, her efforts ensure the event is meaningful and enjoyable, connecting Forward Air employees with the greater mission of giving back. “Getting to work with the HOPE team on this event each year is truly a privilege,” she shares. “As a transportation company, we have a higher-than-average population of veterans within our organization. Drive for Hope is so special because we can give back to the disabled veteran community while also celebrating our teammates who have served.”

The tournament doesn’t just provide financial support—it fosters a sense of gratitude and connection among Forward Air employees, many of whom are veterans themselves. “Each year, I get to meet and connect with more amazing co-workers that I often didn’t know had served,” Hannah explains. “It’s so rewarding to celebrate our teammates and show that we appreciate their work for our country before joining our team.”

This year’s Drive for Hope event, held November 11-12 at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia, raised $350,000 to benefit Hope For The Warriors. These funds will support the organization’s Drive for Hope program, which provides adaptive driving rehabilitation and training to injured service members and veterans. Since its inception in 2022, the tournament has raised a remarkable $1.25 million, making a tangible difference in the lives of veterans.

Danielle Rose, Hope For The Warriors’ Director of Donor Events, praised Hannah’s contributions: “Hannah’s dedication to the Drive for Hope Golf Tournament exemplifies the true spirit of service. Over the years, she has grown into a leadership role on the planning committee, fostering seamless communication between Hope For The Warriors and Forward Air. She balances her many roles with remarkable ease and professionalism, leaving a lasting impact on our mission.”

For Hannah, being named Volunteer of the Month is an honor and a reflection of the collective efforts that make the Drive for Hope tournament a success. “It goes beyond the donation,” she says. “It also empowers us to thank the veterans on our team and recognize them for their sacrifices as servicemen and women.”

Hope For The Warriors extends our deepest gratitude to Hannah for her passion, dedication, and leadership. Her work supports the mission and inspires others to join in creating a better future for our nation’s veterans. Thank you, Hannah, for being a driving force of hope!
