TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2024) – Together with Bear Lakes Country Club, Hope For The Warriors distributed 250 bags of food to Tampa area active-duty service members and their families for a military appreciation event, in response to hurricane Milton. Each family received a reusable grocery bag filled with 15 food items and a gift card to the MacDill commissary.

Founded in 2006, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a foundation of stability, strength and community for post-9/11 veterans, service members and military families.

As a part of its Critical Needs program, Hope For The Warriors assists military families with immediate needs due to delays in disability claims processing, loss of income, homelessness, need for increased care due to injury progression, or unexpected expenses that can create financial burden.

“In the past few months, Hope For The Warriors has received the highest amount of requests for support in its 18-year history. The demand for critical assistance is high,” shared Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors co-founder and CEO. “Then you have events like hurricane Milton hit that continue to push the needs for military families. Thanks to our longtime supporters at Bear Lakes Country Club, we want to remind Tampa military families that we appreciate and thank them for their continued sacrifices and services.”
