“Thank you to everyone who assists with the Cars and Guitars Classic Car Show and Fundraiser each year,” said Dean Nichol, president of East to West Classic Cars. “Your commitment to our veterans is 100 percent!”
East to West Classic Cars partners with Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit that provides comprehensive services that support the well-being of post-9/11 veterans and active-duty, military families and caregivers and families of the fallen. In its second year, the Hope For The Warriors Cop Award will honor Joe Modlin, who served 23-years as a NYPD police officer. Modlin was an avid supporter of East to West Classic Cars.
In addition, keynote speaker from CopOp, LLC, retired Cincinnati police sergeant Dave Corlett, will be on hand to provide training and education on how to help reduce the number of veteran and first responder suicide victims through early intervention.
CopOp partners with Hope For The Warriors with a mission to reduce the stigma around post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and enable first responder and corporate training in PTSD, stress, and mental health first aid.
“We’re excited to be back on Long Island for the 9th Annual East to West Classic Car Show and Fundraiser,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and CEO of Hope For The Warriors. “The Long Island community never disappoints us in their support for military families and beyond. We’re honored to introduce the attendees to our partners with CopOp as well, as we know the need of proper education on PTSD in not just the military community, but the first responder community as well.”
Since its inception, Hope For The Warriors has served over 187,000 members of the military community through a variety of support programs focused on providing financial, career and educational stability; physical and emotional strength; and social support that builds community.
