LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – WBAB raised more than $8,500 through its annual Vetsrock concert benefiting Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.
Featuring Heart and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, one dollar from each ticket purchased was donated to the nonprofit. In addition, WBAB and Hope For The Warriors provided 500 tickets to the concert that were offered free of charge to active-duty service members, veterans and military families.
“Our partnership with Hope For The Warriors on multiple events throughout the year, including WBAB Vetsrock, provides the WBAB team with a true sense of hope and inspiration,” said WBAB Director of Marketing and Promotion, Jason Steinberg. “Knowing that our financial contributions and awareness campaigns allow them to help veterans right here on Long Island energizes us to continue to come up with innovative ways to support this amazing nonprofit.”
Celebrating 13 years of service, Hope For The Warriors assists veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation and transition services.
“Vetsrock 2019 was an incredible night honoring local veterans and their families in addition to a fantastic show,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization. “With such a large military community residing in Long Island, it’s a privilege to work with WBAB to continue to raise funds and awareness for service members, veterans and military families in this community.”
