It is HOPE’s utmost honor to highlight Jamie Boyle as the January 2021 Volunteer of the Month!

Since 2017, Jamie has served on Hope For The Warrior’s Scholarship Committee, primarily assisting in the application grading process. During this time, Jamie, along with fellow committee members, has read over 250 essays and helped identify 68 scholarship recipients, totaling more than $137,000 in scholarship aid to military spouses, caregiver, and spouses of the fallen. Beyond grading duties, Jamie has been a valuable advisor to the scholarship program lead helping with the revamp of programmatic processes.

In addition to the volunteer hours she dedicates to HOPE, Jamie has volunteered over 1,000 hours during her time at Fort Bragg and various duty stations. Her extensive service hours include volunteering with Soldier Family Readiness Groups, serving on the local military spouse club’s executive board, supporting her children’s schools, and serving as a district school board member. A teacher and writer by trade, Jamie has worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus and as a writer in the veteran non-profit space for the past six years.

Military Spouse and Caregiver Scholarship Lead, Kristy Schwartz shares, “It has been a pleasure working with Jamie over the last few years. I cannot thank her enough for the unique experience she brings to the committee as an educator. She has proven herself to be a dependable committee member with a passion for supporting this program fueled by her own experience navigating continuing education and careers and a military spouse.”

Join us in thanking Jamie for her selfless service to the warrior community.
