It is our honor to highlight U.S. Army veteran Catherine Bane as Hope For The Warriors’ August Volunteer of the Month!
More than 10 years ago, Catherine joined Hope For The Warriors. She quickly became an impactful member of our HOPE family and a face of HOPE in her community. She is an example of bravery and courage as she willingly shares her story of finding healing and now advocates for HOPE’s programs that have helped her and her family. Catherine connects her fellow veterans and military families to HOPE and is a source of guidance and wisdom. She is also an advocate for sexual assault victims as a volunteer with the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. Through the support she has shown the warrior community, she was awarded the Vigiano Family Hope and Courage Award in 2015 at Hope For The Warriors’ Gala.
Beyond advocacy, sharing HOPE has become a family venture for the Banes! You can find their smiling faces at the Run For The Warriors Race Series, Team Hope For The Warriors events and various events in the eastern North Carolina community. As a family, they have hosted various in-person and virtual fundraisers and continuously go above and beyond for the warrior community.
Development Director Leslie Hunt, who has known Catherine for nearly 10 years, shares, “Catherine is one of the most caring and compassionate people you will ever meet. Her strength to share and advocate for her fellow veterans is an inspiration. With a contagious smile, she truly makes a difference in the lives of every person she meets.”
Thank you, Catherine, for being a light of HOPE in the lives of many! You have a heart of gold, and your dedicated efforts as a volunteer do not go unnoticed!
