Fisher House Foundation’s Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, to receive the Gary Sinise Community Service Award
The outdoor event will honor members of our nation’s armed forces and their families with the Vigiano Hope & Courage Awards, named in honor of the Vigiano family, who lost both of their sons in the September 11th attacks. In addition, Hope For The Warriors will honor individuals, corporations and organizations who have stood beside the organization in serving military families.
Leticia “Tish” Stropes will receive the Gary Sinise Community Service Award, which is awarded to an individual who puts his or her patriotism in action to serve military families and raise awareness of the needs of the military community.
As the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Fisher House Foundation, Stropes is responsible for the Hero Programs which help keep families connected during the healing process. These programs include Hero Miles, which use donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members, and Hotels for Heroes, that redeems donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers when a Fisher House is not available.
Additionally, Stropes, a military spouse, is responsible for Fisher House’s involvement and partnership with the Warrior Games and Invictus Games. She also develops and sustains long-term partnerships with organizations that support the mission and vision of Fisher House, like Hope For The Warriors.
Stropes along with her retired Air Force husband and two children reside in Arlington, Virginia.
The Summer Soirée kicks off at 6 p.m. and will feature a performance by Lee Greenwood who will sing “God Bless the U.S.A.”
The evening event aims to bring together veteran and civilian supporters to celebrate the strength and resiliency of the military community. It’s an evening filled with inspiring and uplifting stories that raises awareness of the impactful work Hope For The Warriors is doing in the lives of our servicemembers, veterans and their families. Senior military, distinguished guests, celebrities, corporate benefactors and friends join together to honor these very special people.
