GLEN COVE, N.Y. (March 4, 2019) –Glen Cove resident Michael Gadaleta was recently recognized as volunteer of the month by Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for post-9/11 veterans, service members and military families.
Understanding the sacrifices made by military families with a son serving in the Armed Forces, Michael always goes the extra mile to share Hope For The Warriors’ mission and support various Long Island veteran appreciation events.
Over the last three years, Michael has supported Hope For The Warriors while leading the logistics for Team E.V.A. (Every Veteran Appreciated) raising almost $100,000 for Hope For The Warriors. Founded by Eva Casale, Gadaleta’s girlfriend, the Long Island event honors veterans and Gold Star families with Casale taking on the challenge of running seven marathons in seven days, where she is joined by fellow runners each day.
“Michael is an outstanding and exceptional human being,” said Hope For The Warriors Senior Director of Sports and Recreation Steve Bartomioli. “Michael always goes above and beyond and pours all of himself into the way he supports Hope For The Warriors and all those affiliated with service. We are fortunate to have him as a volunteer and passionate supporter.”
Beyond TEAM E.V.A., Michael supports other Hope For The Warriors events in the area, like a recent adaptive climbing event for warrior athletes, where he volunteered as the photographer.
