SGM Kevin Bittenbender says he was almost a statistic. The statistic that counts the more than 20 veterans who die by suicide each day.
Kevin lost three of his best friends while serving alongside them in Afghanistan. He struggles with survivor’s guilt. The trauma and physical injuries sustained during service pulled him away from the active lifestyle he once had. Kevin was almost at the end, then he found HOPE.
“Hope For The Warriors helped me regain my focus as a person, as a father, as a son and as a soldier,” Kevin says.
Today we honor Kevin and the 30,000 members of the warrior community Hope For The Warriors has served since 2006. That collective number is impressive when talking about impact, but HOPE sees beyond statistics and focuses on each individual’s journey.
We serve the warrior community one person at a time. One family at a time. A single journey with several goals along the way. HOPE walks with them step by step, every day of the year.
This Veterans Day and throughout the month of November, you have a chance to stand with us and pay tribute to a veteran special to you by donating to HOPE’s Wall of Honor. It’s not only a way to say thank you today, it’s also an investment in the lives of individuals and families across the country for days to come.
Honor a veteran. Donate today.
