Check presentation at Bristol Motor Speedway during one of Hope For The Warriors’ Drive For Hope events
BRISTOL, Tenn. (August 20, 2016) – Clayton Home Building Group reached a new milestone bringing their cumulative donation up to $155,000 to Hope For The Warriors this afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway. The money will be utilized for programs and support provided by Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.
“We continue to be thankful to provide support to Hope for the Warriors, an organization truly committed to helping American veterans and their families,” said Alan Neely, Vice President of Product Development for Clayton Home Building Group. “A core value for Clayton is to treat people right and do the right thing, and this opportunity to help such a wonderful organization strengthens that cause.”
A proud supporter of Hope For The Warriors and its mission, this donation is just the most recent installment of support from Clayton Home Building Group, who has become instrumental in helping the nonprofit organization share hope. The funds donated will benefit veterans, service members and military family through a variety of programming, including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation, community and military relations and transition services.
“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, it’s humbling to see the incredible work Clayton Homes is doing for our mission,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of Hope For The Warriors. “Their support will allow us to serve hundreds in need. We look forward to utilizing these funds to empower veterans, service members and military families in our communities.”
The ceremonial check presentation took place at Bristol Motor Speedway during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend. With Clayton Home Building Group headquartered in nearby Maryville, Tenn., they had already planned a hospitality event at the track. When the dates aligned with one of Hope For The Warriors’ Drive For Hope events, the organization decided to utilize the opportunity to both present the donation and help veterans together. As a result, the service members in attendance at this weekend’s Drive For Hope event were also able to enjoy the NASCAR race from the comfort of the Clayton Homes suite.
Looking to help service members and families who constantly face transition, the Drive For Hope program aims to ease that transition by bringing service members to racetracks across the country while focusing on reintegration into civilian life, learning about prospective careers, and understanding how their skills from the military translate into the civilian sector.
