Congratulations to a very special member of our HOPE family, Pamela Stokes Eggleston, on her new role as Executive Director for the Yoga Service Council!
Eggleston, the founder and owner of Yoga2Sleep, is a certified yoga instructor and yoga therapist who has completed specialized training. This includes certifications in: plant-based nutrition, stress management, prenatal yoga, yoga therapy, and yoga for trauma in veterans and the military to work with service members, veterans with combat trauma and PTSD, and their families. For the past 4 years, Eggleston has been an instrumental member of our Caregiver Services program through our Military and Veteran Caregiver Wellness Workshops. In addition to hosting yoga sessions at these events, she always advocates for HOPE.
Eggleston is a caregiver to her husband, an US Army veteran who was injured by an improvised explosive device (IED), and spent 3 years in Walter Reed Medical Center recovering from his injuries. Her compassion and support for fellow caregivers and veterans, both in and out of the Yoga Studio, makes her a wealth of knowledge and an inspiration to HOPE staff and those we serve. We can never truly thank her enough for her support and her part in our mission to restore HOPE through mindful meditation and yoga.
Dana Thompson, Director of Military, Veteran & Family Support Services had a few things to share about her coworker.
“Pamela’s yoga and deep relaxation sessions have been a key component of the wellness model promoted at HOPE’s wellness workshops,” Thompson said. “She uniquely combines her skills as a yoga instructor with her understanding of the self-nurturing needs of caregivers to provide them with a restorative self-care experience. We are so grateful to Pamela for her support of our caregiver-oriented services.”
