Proceeds from 1941 Victory Red Lipstick to benefit post-9/11 veterans
BURBANK, Calif. (May 26, 2016) – Beginning Thursday, Besame Cosmetics will support service members nationwide through the sale of its 1941 Victory Red lipstick. For each 1941 Victory Red lipstick sold, $5 will be donated to Hope For The Warriors.
Celebrating 10 years of service, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.
Besame Cosmetics is bringing back 1941 Victory Red, a shade of lipstick that was first introduced during World War II. This shade was created when Winston Churchill asked Elizabeth Arden to create a shade of lipstick for service women that matched their uniforms.
“Besame Cosmetics tribute to our military history and the critical role women and men play in protecting our freedoms is honorable. This campaign is more than just lipstick. It’s a recognition that each and every one of us can play a critical role in supporting the sacrifices made by service members and their families.” We’re honored to receive the support of Besame Cosmetics and its customers,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder, president and CEO of Hope For The Warriors. “What a unique way to celebrate and assist our military heroes while wearing lipstick.”
