SPRINGFIELD, Va. (Sept. 9, 2021) – Hope For The Warriors was named an official charity partner for the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon, taking place November 7. It will be the 50th celebratory running of the marathon.

Hope For The Warriors will be among the more than 400 official charity partners providing thousands of runners the opportunity to run in the world’s most popular marathon.

The NYRR (New York Road Runners) Official Charity Partner Program offers an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to raise funds to support their missions and services. Participating charities can offer guaranteed entry to runners who fundraise on their behalf. In 2021, Hope For The Warriors will field 12 runners as a silver level charity.

“It’s exciting for the New York City Marathon to back and ready for runners for in 2021,” said Jenna McDonald, sports and recreation manager for Hope For The Warriors. “Running virtually is still a great experience but nothing beats running amongst your peers throughout the streets of New York City. The charity partner program is such a great way to gain access to this once-in-a-lifetime race while supporting military families in the process.”

Since 2011, Hope For The Warriors has fielded over 200 participants in TCS New York City Marathon, raising over $1.5 million dollars for the nonprofit’s programs for service members, veterans and their families.

“Supporting charitable causes and organizations are a long-standing tradition of the TCS New York City Marathon as it serves as one of the world’s largest fundraising platforms,” said Christine Burke, senior vice president of strategic partnerships of New York Road Runners. “The marathon exemplifies the running community’s spirit of giving back, and no group demonstrates that more than the thousands who choose to run for charity. We are proud to support the efforts of the Hope For The Warriors team and the positive impact they have made to their community.”

Since its inception in 2006, the TCS New York City Marathon Official Charity Partner Program has raised over $350 million for more than 1,000 worthy nonprofit organizations across the globe.

The 2021 TCS New York City Marathon will commemorate the race’s 50th running with runners from all over the world participating in-person and virtually. This year’s marathon will once again aim to bring together people of all ages and abilities reflecting the resilience and strength of the running community.
