SPRINGFIELD, Va. (Dec. 14, 2023) – Hope For The Warriors was recently honored by the Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services at its annual holiday reception in Washington, D.C.

Hope For The Warriors Co-founder and CEO Robin Kelleher accepted The Eugene and Ruth Freedman Leadership Award for the nonprofit’s commitment to addressing the well-being of veterans and military families. The award is named in honor of Eugene and Ruth Freedman, whose lifetime of philanthropy continues through their family foundation and their three children, Penny Freedman, Nancy Remak and Rick Freedman.

The Dixon Center for Military Veterans Services works with organizations from all sectors of society – public, private, social, and civic. The nonprofit provides and coordinates technical assistance/training, resource sharing, and leadership for its partners, who together, work to make the lives of veterans and their families better.

“We’re honored to work with a number of organizations, like the Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services to serve the military families across the county,” said Kelleher. “Therefore, it’s an extreme honor to be recognized by one of our partners for the work we’re doing. Much like service members, we know we don’t serve alone and appreciate the support and recognition of other veteran service organizations.”

Founded in 2006, Hope For The Warriors assists veterans, service members and military families by providing financial, career and educational stability; physical and emotional strength; and social support that builds community
