For the first time, annual event offering two race days and locations
LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (Nov. 8, 2017) – Hope For The Warriors 10th Annual Long Island Run For The Warriors presented by Island Federal Credit Union will take place Saturday, Nov. 18th at Babylon Town Hall. The event features a 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile Walk/Run with opening ceremonies kicking off at 9 a.m.
For the first time, a second event will be held this year on Sunday, Nov. 19th at Stony Brook University. The event features a 5K, and 1-Mile Walk/Run with opening ceremonies kicking off at 8:45 a.m. All races are adaptive equipment friendly.
All proceeds benefit Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family, and hope to service members, their families, and families of the fallen.
Run For The Warriors is a race series open to civilians and military members, that honors the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan and celebrates their strength and resolve. The series also provides wounded service members encouragement and the opportunity to pursue running, walking or cycling to assist in physical and emotional rehabilitation.
