In celebration of National Volunteer Month this April, Hope For The Warriors would like to recognize all individuals and groups who selflessly donate their time, talent, and treasure to our organization!

Volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do. Between events, programs, and day-to-day operations, we rely on these individuals to help us accomplish our mission of restoring self, family and HOPE to the military community. Each and every day, our volunteers show up to offer their support and let our warrior community know the nation is behind them.

Over the last few years, our country, and the world, have faced unprecedented times, and we have had to adapt and overcome on the fly. Even during these times of uncertainty and daily changes, our volunteers stood strong.

“Because events had to stop because of COVID, our volunteers still kept the HOPE alive,” said HOPE’s Volunteer Manager Angie Parker. “They continued to share HOPE through virtual opportunities like making hundreds of donor thank you calls, sending cards to our service members, painting rocks and placing them at veterans’ graves, volunteering their time on the scholarship committee, and so much more!”

Volunteers come to us with all different kinds of valuable experiences. Whether they are a high school student like our March 2022 Volunteer of the Month (VOM) recipient Sanjana Kanaparthi or a veteran like December 2021 VOM recipient Harry Fenstad, there is room for all ages and backgrounds on our team!

In 2021, our volunteers worked hard and dedicated a total of 497 hours to HOPE. This year, with events back in full swing, our volunteers have already logged 331 hours with so many more great opportunities ahead!

“We have already started making calls to our friends in the Jacksonville, NC area to let them know that our annual Run For The Warriors is coming back,” said Angie. “The volunteers love making these calls, and the people enjoy getting them too.  It’s a win, win!”

We can’t thank our volunteers enough for all their hard work and dedication to HOPE and our warrior community! We are honored to call them a part of our team this month, and every month, as the impact they make truly helps us transform the lives of our nation’s heroes and their families.
