Veteran Stand Down is focused on assisting the disadvantaged veteran population in the local community. During this event, vets have access to services from 50 or more agencies and local non-profit organizations.
This event will be a round-robin style with groups of Marines/Sailors visiting each resource booth.
Approximately 700 Marines will be in attendance. All base safety and support organizations will be represented to talk to support for Marine/Sailors and families during the 101 Day of Summer Campaign that reinforces summer safety and provides support information on all aspects of unit support.
The United Military Veterans of Kings County will schedule, plan and execute an annual parade on Memorial Day to include a memorial service to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the defense of our nation.
2d Marine Logistics Group is hosting a Readiness Extravaganza Event to highlight all of the resources that are available and support our Marines, Sailors and their families in the local community. This event is open to the 7,500 Marines and Sailors of 2d Marine Logistics Group and their family members.
This is the fifth year the FDNY Hockey Team has asked to honor Hope For The Warriors veterans before the game, and host them for the game. All must provide proof of Covid 19 vaccination to enter the building.
Marine Expo Quantico is co-sponsored by and held at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA. It is the largest of the 3 Expos they do each year and encompasses the NCR, Fort Belvoir, Quantico and TBS. This Expo has the largest footprint and vendor representation allowing for a greater outreach in all HOPE program areas. Held since 1993, this annual exposition showcases the latest innovative displays, trailblazing computer simulations and state-of-the-art technology systems and equipment designed specifically for the U.S. Marine Corps.
In honor of 2d Maintenance Battalion’s 71st Anniversary, the Marines and Sailors will be participating in various field meet events throughout the first two weeks of November. Hope for the Warriors has been invited to have a resource table at the micro-resource station to speak with the 450+ Marines/Sailors about all the great services we provide.
