Nadine Cannon is a Licensed Clinic Social Worker (LCSW) with 13 years of experience providing services to children and families.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. (Go Steelers!), Nadine moved to Fayetteville, N.C. 16 years ago to be closer to her younger sister who was stationed at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne. It was there that Nadine attended Methodist University and earned her bachelor’s in social work. In 2017, she graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW) with her master’s in social work.
Prior to joining our Cohen Clinic, Nadine worked at Head Start, North Carolina Child Protective Services, at an emergency youth shelter that served displaced vulnerable youth and at community-based mental health clinic with intensive in-home services.
Nadine enjoys working with children, adolescents, parents and families in a variety of settings and circumstances. She strives to be an advocate for ending negative mental health stigma and discrimination and works to create a therapeutic environment without shame, blame or stigma.
Nadine is trained and skilled in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is also trained as a Seven Challenges Leader. She uses person centered, solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy in sessions with clients.
Nadine is married and has three boys. She is also a fur mama to two mischievous Bengal mix cats, Petey and Dusty, and a Chihuahua mix named Chip. In addition to spending time with her family, Nadine enjoys cooking good food, searching for beach glass and creating art.
