Karen Valentine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish Literature from the University of California, San Diego, and her Master of Social Work, with a Concentration in Families and Children, through the University of Southern California.
Karen is bilingual and has experience working with a wide variety of populations, with the most experience working with families and children. Most recently, she worked as a school-based therapist in Onslow County schools. She has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Problem-Solving Therapy, Incredible Years, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and continues to expand her trainings to be able to serve her clients and the military population.
Karen is passionate about working with different populations, including military and military families. Karen has two daughters and in her free time enjoys dancing, reading, cooking, and baking.
