National nonprofit provides holiday support with its sixth annual Holiday Giving Initiative
The national nonprofit, Hope For The Warriors recently wrapped its sixth annual Holiday Giving Initiative assisting 50 military families in Colorado, Florida, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Oklahoma and Georgia.
The Holiday Giving Initiative provides families with basic needs like grocery store gift cards and children’s clothing, while brightening the holidays with more Santa-inspired items such as baby dolls, games, videos, bikes and more.
On average, it costs the organization around $300 to prepare and ship each granted wish through the Holiday Giving Initiative. In the past six years, the Hope For The Warriors Holiday Giving Initiative has assisted more than 230 military families across the Unites States.
“While the holidays are a time of joy and celebration, it can also be an extremely stressful time for military members,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder, president and CEO of Hope For The Warriors. “Hope For The Warriors strives to relieve a little of the stress by helping to carry part of the burden for Gold Star and wounded military families. In addition, this program provides a special opportunity for individuals and corporations wanting to make a difference in the lives of military members around the holidays.”
The national program is open to post-9/11 wounded or Gold Star military families that are struggling financially during the holidays. The nonprofit accepts referrals of service members and/or veterans that would benefit from the Holiday Giving Initiative and then matches each military families’ wish list with Hope For The Warriors’ donors.
Celebrating 10 years of service, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.
