KINGWOOD, TX (Oct. 3, 2017) – The 6th Annual Kingwood Fallen Heroes Memorial Golf Tournament donated $30,000 to Hope For The Warriors with proceeds from its annual event. One of four charities benefiting from the tournament, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.

Honoring three Kingwood fallen heroes, SGT. Brandon C. Bury, LANCE CPL. Luke C. Yepsen, and SGT. William Meeuwsen the annual event has donated more than $177,000 to Hope For The Warriors.

Along with contributions to military nonprofits, the Kingwood Fallen Heroes Memorial Golf Tournament also funds scholarships for Kingwood High School graduates in honor of the local heroes and alumni, who lost their lives while serving in combat.

“Our primary goal of this annual event is to continue our promise and commitment to their families that their ultimate sacrifices will never be forgotten,” said event organizer, Scott Mitchell. “In addition, we aim to raise funds to help support our active military current serving in foreign lands and combat zones; and, U.S. veterans and their families with special needs.”

Celebrating 11 years of service, Hope For The Warriors assists veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation, community and military relations and transition services.

“When Hope For The Warriors started 11 years ago, we dreamed of events like the Kingwood Memorial Golf Tournament supporting our initiatives year-after-year,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization. “Most importantly, the organizers and participants of the Kingwood Memorial Golf Tournament are truly impacting the well-being of the many veterans, service members and families who have bravely served and sacrificed for our country.”

Since 2012, the tournament has raised more than $465,000 for military nonprofits.
