Unemployment rates for the veteran and military spouse community are typically higher than average. So, with the additional strains caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, then-high school students Jonathan Chidiac and Derek Fletcher took it upon themselves to give back to those who have served our country by washing their windows, letting them focus on more critical needs.

Jonathan and Derek grew up with the value of volunteering as a big part of their childhoods. Still, their cause was also personal, as both have family members who have served in the military and inspired their new volunteer venture. Derek’s great-grandfather was a pilot in World War II, and Jonathan’s uncle served in the Brazilian Navy.

Thanks to their efforts and dedication to giving back to those who serve, their business, coined “Washing Windows for Warriors,” raised over $7,000 – money they generously donated to HOPE’s programs and services to continue giving back.
