In 2007, the Camp Lejeune-based Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC), an organization that develops military housing, supported 3 newly renovated homes at the Marine Corps Base in Camp Lejeune to HOPE for us to better serve our clients in North Carolina. These homes were known as our Warrior Houses.
Two of the homes were dedicated to housing service-members and their families while they recovered from injuries sustained in combat, while the third served as our on-base office and conference center.
What makes this chapter of our history even more special is not only the impact these houses had on our warrior community and the recovery of those service members, but also how the greater North Carolina community banded together in a time of great need to make this project a reality. We are forever grateful to AMCC, and everyone involved for donating the time, materials, and renovation services for the houses, and to the local business who pitched in to furnish and decorate the homes.
