SPRINGFIELD, Va. (June 2, 2021) – Stirling Colins, longtime Hope For The Warriors supporter recently raised $68,000 through its 10th Annual New York Clay Shoot benefiting the nonprofit organization. Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.

Held at Orvis Sandanona in Millbrook, N.Y., the annual event is held to honor our nation’s heroes. Through sports and recreation events like the sporting clay shoot, Hope For The Warriors builds a community that embraces the warrior athlete, supporting their rehabilitation and mental health.

Orvis Sandanona is the nation’s oldest permitted shotgun club and is consistently ranked among the very best shooting grounds with regularly changing targets.

“After a very difficult year dealing with the pandemic it was wonderful to see the support and participation from over 180 attendees at this year’s event,” said Stirling Collins chairman of the New York Clay Shoot. “I was humbled by the outpouring of support from our friends and can only hope that next year will be even more successful.

“Success by Ralph Waldo Emerson: ‘To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; This is to have succeeded.’”

Celebrating almost 15 years of service, Hope For The Warriors assists veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation and transition services.

“As the year has progressed it’s been really exciting to safely be a part of annual events that we missed in 2020,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization. “The Clay Shoot is a perfect example of this. The shoot is a great day of fellowship and sport for warriors to participate in with event participants as they raise critical funds for the organization’s mission.”

Since 2012, the Clay Shoot has raised over $470,000 benefiting Hope For The Warriors and its programs.
