THE UNIT CHALLENGE
Hope For The Warriors™ has issued a "Unit Challenge". This is an opportunity for units to
honor their brethren wounded by entering and running either the 5K or 10K. Many
units have their own wounded Marines and Sailors so this challenge will serve as a personal
tribute to their own. Please note: Unit discounts are available to military units only.
We would like to acknowledge and congratulate the following units for their incredible demonstration of support and respect, not only for their own
wounded but for all service members wounded in the line of combat. In the 2007 Run For The Warriors™:
VMM-162 (New River) - led by Capt. Rachel Matthes. VMM-162 received the award for the greatest participation.
2nd MLG M'Ladies Group - led by Mrs. Debbi Kessler. The M'Ladies Group consisted of spouses of Marines and Sailors deployed with the IIMEF Forward.
2d Maintenance Bn - led by MSgt. Martinez. 2d Maintenance Bn won the participation award for the Run For The Warriors™ - Iraq.
Participating Units are eligible for 2 awards (To be presented to the Unit Representative at the Closing Ceremony):
**Participation Award – presented to the unit with the most number of registrants
**Spirit Of The Cause Award – presented to the unit creatively supporting the mission of Hope For The Warriors™
In addition to inviting military units to accept the "unit challenge", we encourage spouses of deployed units to represent their
