Outdoor Adventures - Hope For The Warriors®

Outdoor Adventures

Hope For The Warriors® Outdoor Adventures Program provides adaptive opportunities for wounded heroes to participate in sporting activities in the great outdoors. Service members, who previously embraced an outdoorsman lifestyle, as well as those new to wilderness sports, are introduced to recreational opportunities on the road to recovery.

Hope For The Warriors® created the Outdoor Adventures Program in 2010 to provide adaptive opportunities for wounded heroes to participate in sporting activities in the great outdoors. In 2012, the organization recognized the therapeutic benefits for the family members and expanded the program to include spouses and children of wounded and fallen service members.

A new partnership with The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) has furthered traditional outdoor opportunities for the entire military family. NWTF is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. This partnership gives Hope For The Warriors® access to NWTF Outreach Programs throughout the country, allowing for a greater reach of support to service members and families.

Hope For The Warriors® is also partnered with Buckmasters, a National Deer Hunting Association that encourages hunting ethics, sportsmanship and hunter safety. Buckmasters has a top-rated television show as well as multiple publications. The association, led by founder and CEO Jackie Bushman, has a long history in supporting both the military as well as the disabled.

Combat wounded service members and veterans interested in hunting should contact Outdoor Adventures Program staff.

Hope For The Warriors® is also partnered with Bassmaster, the highly popular bass fishing competition. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, BASS invited wounded heroes through Hope For The Warriors® to attend the Bassmaster Elite Series Postseason. Activities included exhibition fishing with an angler and special honor given to each warrior at the final weigh ins.

Hope For The Warriors® has also partnered with Ultimate Fishing Experience to provide our warriors fishing opportunities. Read more.

In the world of adaptive and therapeutic sports, our Outdoor Adventures Program also includes sailing, skiing, snowshoeing, and more. We are currently offering four Sailing Clinics across the country. Learn more about these Sailing Clinics.
