Overton’s 400 race weekend marks the nonprofit’s first venture into connecting with the NASCAR fan base

LONG POND, Pa. (July 27, 2017) Hope For The Warriors will feature a bigger presence at this weekend’s NASCAR race at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. With signage throughout the camp ground, a display in the fan zone and RVs waiving the Hope For The Warriors’ flag, the national nonprofit dedicated to restoring self, family and hope for post-9/11 service members, veterans and military families will use the weekend as an opportunity to connect directly with NASCAR fans—something they have not done in the past.

“We are really excited and very grateful to be working with Pocono Raceway on this unique promotion reaching out to the Patriotic American fan base that is such a part of the NASCAR Community,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of Hope For The Warriors. “NASCAR has always been great at getting us inside the garage with our Drive For Hope program, but we are thrilled with this opportunity to meet and interact with the fans outside the garage too.”

While Hope For The Warriors has utilized their Drive For Hope program to connect with those inside the industry since 2014, this will mark their first activation to connect directly with the NASCAR fan base.

On a near weekly basis, Hope For The Warriors hosts service members at NASCAR races across the country as part of their Drive For Hope program. The program aims to ease the transition of service members and their families from the military to civilian life. Focusing on reintegration into the civilian sector, the program looks to assist service members with learning about prospective careers and understanding how their skills from the military translation into the civilian workforce. Offering mentorship, camaraderie, social interaction and relationship building, the Drive For Hope program is unlike any others active in the NASCAR garage.
