Hope For The Warriors demonstrates what HOPE looks like with Got Heart, Give Hope Celebrations in Swansboro, N.C. and Arlington, Va.

SPRINGFIELD, VA. (September 15, 2016) – Hope For The Warriors will commemorate its 10th Anniversary with the Got Heart, Give Hope Celebration, which is scheduled to happen in both Swansboro, N.C. and Arlington, Va. over the next week. Dedicated to serving those who have served, Hope For The Warriors has helped service members, veterans and military families restore self, family and hope since its inception on September 11, 2006. In the upcoming weeks, the national nonprofit will mark this important milestone by showing what HOPE looks like, while reflecting on the treasured memories of the past decade.

“Looking back over the last 10 years, I am proud to see the growth of our organization and the impact we have had in restoring a sense of self, family and hope to our service members and military families,” said Robin Kelleher, President and CEO. “Taking this time to honor all the hard work done and celebrate the successful stories of hope is very important. As we move into our next decade of service I look forward to sharing more stories of hope and successful transitions.”

The first Got Heart, Give Hope Celebration will be hosted by MajGen Robert Dickerson, USMC (Ret.) and Mrs. Dickerson in Swansboro, N.C. on Friday, September 16. Kicking off Hope For The Warrior’s anniversary celebration, this private event will be held just 20 miles from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, where Hope For The Warriors was originally founded 10 years ago.

On Thursday, September 22, a second Got Heart, Give Hope Celebration will be held at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Va. With the nonprofit’s national headquarters located just 10 miles away, the occasion will bring together a group of dedicated supporters, service members, veterans and Hope For The Warriors staff members to celebrate the organization’s 10th anniversary.

The 2016 Got Heart, Give Hope Celebration events will focus on Hope For The Warriors’ transition from the bedside to where it is 10 years later-helping restore self, family and hope for service members, veterans and their families on a daily basis. Demonstrating what hope ‘looks like,’ several service members will be in attendance to share their stories about the impact Hope For The Warriors has had on the lives of themselves and their families. A display of combat art will also help put a visualization to what hope looks like, as service members who have turned to art healing as a part of their reintegration will have their work on display with some available for purchase.
