Q. What is a chip and how do I know what my time is in this race?
This is a chip timed race which means all runners can attach a plastic chip to their shoe. The chip electronically stores the runner's bib number which corresponds to your name, age, race event and final time. Mats placed at the finish line record your chip crossing and allow for the race directors to chart your time and compare to other runners. If you do not pick up your chip and tie it on your shoe we cannot provide your race time. To qualify for a prize you must wear a chip!
Please note, all chips must be removed in the finish chute and returned. We have to pay a fee for all returned chips which hcomes from the proceeds of this race and therefore from the money we have for our programs. Thank you or your cooperation. If you have any questions regarding chips and/or timing, please contact us at any time.

Q. Where do I pick up my chip?
A. Chips will be available on Race Day ONLY from 6:00 a.m.- 7:30 a.m. at the Chip Pick-Up Tent (which will be clearly marked). Runners must return chips at the finish line. Volunteers will be present in the finish chute to assist in chip removal. Runner assumes responsibility and will be billed for unreturned chips at a rate of $20 each.

Q. Can I pick up a packet for a friend?
A. You will have to sign for the packet that you pick up in case there is some miscommunication. If you pick up a packet and your friend does not get that packet - they will not be issued a new packet (which includes race numer and t-shirt).

Q. Who is eligible for the family or unit discount?
A. The discounted price is for families and military units only.
