Win Singleton and Craig Harai visit with Chris after delivering the Apple laptop and IPOD.
Corporal Chris Santiago, USMC
On the night of Sept. 16, Cpl. Chris Santiago got out of a Humvee to open a
gate at his military base and stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED). Since that day he has endured more
than 15 surgeries, including the amputation of both of his legs below the knees. He lost two fingers on his left
hand, and he's anticipating more surgeries to help repair other injuries to his left arm.
Chris Santiago is a 22 year-old from West Virginia and a proud Marine. He plans to return back to college and major
in Biochemistry next year.
While at Bethesda Hospital, Chris asked for a Macintosh laptop so he could email his Marines in Iraq,
watch movies and listen to music. Hope For The Warriors™ contacted Win Singleton, an avid MAC user and a
military dad. As a web designer in Northern Virginia, Win contacted all of clients on Chris' behalf and the money for the
computer and an Apple IPOD was raised in a little under 30 hours. |
